Hello!  Though it's disappointing that we are stuck in our homes all day, I've found that is a perfect opportunity to draw closer to God.  So I have put 6 things together to help you do that.  There are many other good ways to draw closer to God.  If you any other ideas that you have used, and would like share please feel free to in the comments below.  Also I want to know what you want to read about so please comment that also.

1. Prayer
Prayer is how we talk and listen to God.

Some different ideas to expand your prayer life is starting a prayer journal; you can write out or draw out your prayers in this journal.  You can set aside 5 minutes daily; just be silent and pray.  Especially if you're stressed that 5 minutes is essential.  But the most beautiful thing about prayer is it can happen anywhere at anytime.  God will always picks up the phone to listen, so I encourage you to pray constantly.

2. Devotions
Daily devotions are a good idea to take 10 minutes or more out of your day with God.  They can be as long or short as you need them to be.  I encourage you to find a devotion that will get you out of your comfort zone.  It helps to have a time of day scheduled whether that's in the morning or at night.

Some resources I would recommend are The Bible App has plans that are free.  They make video, audio, and readable devotion on tons of topics, and books of the bible.  I am currently doing the one called Ruth, A Story of Redemption, if you would like to check it out.  I also have used devotion books.  One I love and have read through is called The Jesus-Centered Life.  I encourage to continue looking for resources on Pinterest and Youtube.

3. Online Sermons
Covid-19 has my church closed, and also a lot of other churches as well.  My pastor is life streaming sermons.  But sermons aren't just for Sunday.  I youtube sermons during the week, and take notes.  I encourage you to find a pastor or person you enjoy listening to, and your beliefs align with.

Some people I enjoy listening to are Steven Furtick from Elevation Church and Sadie Robertson.  Also Faithplay is a free app where you can listen to popular pastors.

4.  Read Christian based books
Please don't substitute your Bible reading time for this.  It is very important to read your bible.  But I encourage you to find some Christian based books you will enjoy.

Two amazing books I've read recently read are The Shack by: William P. Young, and The Cure by: Bill Thrall, Bruce McNicol, and John Lynch.  These books explain God's love in a way that will transform your view.  I am willing to do a book review or either of these books, if anyone is interested comment below.

5. Read your Bible
I couldn't not put this one in here.   The Bible is our life guide as Christians, so it's important to know what's inside.  The more I read, the more I learn every time.

One way to make it easier is by taking a bible stories and making them modern.  This can help increase your understanding.  I have written a modern prodigal son bible study, if you would like me to make a blog about that comment below.

6. Listen to a Christian playlist
It's good to fill your mind with some worship music.  I encourage to check out my Spotify playlist.
My username is Chloe Ann and the playlist called Jesus bops(lol).  It includes some rap, and pop christian hits, so go check it out.

As always stay tuned for my next post on Friday!

Much love,

Chloe Ann <3

  2. Hey Chloe! I absolutely love your blog so far:) One Christian book that I'm currently in the middle of reading is Mere Christianity by CS Lewis. It gives an interesting view (for even the nonbeliever) of the Christian faith, and breaks it down in ways I'd never even thought of! So far it's really good and interesting! I'll have to check out the ones you recommended too for some much needed quarantine reading:)

My Bible Time Routine- Morning & Evening

Faith                                                                                        May 1, 2020 Hello everyone! I wanted to share my morning and evening bible quiet time.  I recently started this, so it might change a bit over time but is this what I am currently doing.  I want to say there is no right or wrong way to spend your time with God this is just what I like to do for my quiet time.   Morning: When I get ready for the day I usually listen to my Christian playlist to get my day going.  Sometimes I make coffee, tea, or just drink water while I do my devotion for the morning.  So the first thing I do is I fill out my prayer binder for the day.  I just write down all my prayer requests.  Then I pray over them...
