Faith April 1,2020
Hey everyone! I will try to make of my posts happy, and joyful. But I also want to be real with all of you. So I would love to share a few things with you that I have learned about disappointment.
First off, let me say it seems to be the season of disappointment. Things are being cancelled left and right. We are encouraged not to leave our home. From colleges closing for the rest of the year to spring break trips, and other fun things cancelled. People are getting sick, and dying because a world wide virus. Even people disappoint us from time to time. Whether that's by doing or not doing something.
Disappointment is inevitable. People will always mess up at some point, and plans won't always work out the way you hoped they would. If you've never been disappointed it's going to happen(sorry). I found through many relationships even the closest will fail you at some point. We are all human. I disappoint people all the time, and have to seek forgiveness from God and the person I disappointed.
So what's the good out of all of this. There has to be something better than living a life of constant disappointment. Best advice I can give; put your value and plans to God. When you let go of how you think life should go, and what you think people should act. You will find you will have less unnecessary disappointment. This isn't giving people the right to walk over you. But it is saying I can't control how things turn out or how other people act. So I am not going to stress about it. This doesn't mean you will avoid disappointment all together, or you won't ever be upset or sad. But when you let God control of the things you can't control(which is a lot) you will find more peace in the midst of life's storm. Why wait till the storm is over to realize God is working? Learning to praise God in the middle of your storm is an amazing gift you can experience.
The bible tells us to let God handle our stress and disappointment. We aren't supposed to carry the weight of life on your own. The bible also tell us we can't add anytime to our life my worrying. So I encourage to let God has your worries and disappointment starting today.
Much love,
